President of France appoints Olivier Courteaud as French Ambassador to Georgia

President of France, Emmanuel Macron, appointed Olivier Courteaud, senior administrator, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Georgia.

The French President’s decree nominating the new ambassador was signed on August 7.

According to French media, Olivier Courteaud worked as First Secretary at the French Embassy in Lisbon. From 2005 to 2009, he was an advisor for European affairs at the Ministry of Defense, as well as Chief of Staff to the Director General of External Security.

Olivier Courteaud will succeed Sheraz Gasri, who has served since early 2023 and recently announced the end of her tenure.
