President of Armenia: Georgia is our friend country

“Georgia is our friendly country. We should care about the relationship with it,” Armenian President Armen Sarkissian told reporters.

Armen Sarkissian summed up meetings held in Georgia within the framework of his two-day official visit.

He said he met the President of Georgia, Parliament Speaker, Patriarch and communicated with the PM over the phone.

According to the Armenian President, talks mainly focused on the viewpoints about regional stability and faced challenges.

President of Armenia welcomed Georgia’s proposal to serve as a mediator in assigning a fair status to the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Armenian President also hailed Georgia’s efforts in the struggle against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Armen Sarkissian said he missed the opportunity to visit the Samtskhe-Javakheti region but pledged to return to Georgia to go there.

The Armenian delegation arrived in Georgia with an official visit on April 15.
