President: NATO integration path to lead to stability and security

The path of NATO integration that Georgia chose leads to stability and security, said Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili when speaking at the final ceremony of the military drill Agile Spirit 2021.

President noted that Georgia strives for the goal faithfully and tirelessly. She said that Georgian soldiers would continue to contribute to the process of building international security and peace.

“I would like to wish the Georgian military industry the development, which will strengthen our country’s defence capabilities and economy. Georgia is still faithfully and tirelessly striving for its chosen goal – NATO integration. Cooperation and interoperability with the defence forces of the member and partner countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are of great importance on this difficult and responsible path.

The dynamics of multinational military exercises in Georgia confirm the importance of our country in the process of strengthening and maintaining security in the Black Sea region. It is clear that today the security and peace of the world or certain region is no longer a problem and concern of the countries located directly in the region. Regional security and peace are an integral part of global security and peace. Georgia is well aware of this reality.

The path we have chosen, the path of NATO integration, leads to stability and security. We are moving in this direction faithfully, by strengthening close cooperation with our partners, we will prove the stability and security of the region, which is a precondition for strengthening world peace,” President said.

The multinational exercise Agile Spirit 2021 is organized by the Western Command of the Georgian Defense Forces and the US Army Command in Europe and Africa.
