President - Geneva format has had technical character in recent years, we need political dialogue

Geneva format has no alternative, but at the same time, it has been of a technical character in recent years, – President’s Spokesperson Khatia Moistsrapishvili said at the briefing.

According to Moistsrapishvili, President Salome Zurabishvili believes that political dialogue is necessary and it should be held either in the Geneva format or within any other form.

“We categorically declare that the Geneva format has no alternative, but at the same time, it has been of a technical character in recent years. We need a political dialogue. It should be held either in the Geneva format or within a new format,” Moistsrapishvili said.

According to Moistsrapishvili, President believes that representatives of Georgia and partner states should use all international tribunes to discuss the country’s problematic issues.

“The President of Georgia underlines that we should use all the existing formats, all international tribunes. We should tell our partners to use every chance and discuss our most important problem, I mean the occupied territories, with the international community,” Moistsrapishvili said.
