Police seize large quantities of drugs in Imereti and detain two foreign nationals

Officers from the Imereti Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two Ukrainian nationals, identified as V.M., born in 2000, and N.U., also born in 2000, on suspicion of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of significant quantities of drugs.

“During searches of the suspects’ personal and temporary residences, as well as during investigative procedures, law enforcement officers recovered a substantial amount of methadone and the materials necessary for packaging the drug from the locations identified by the suspects as evidence.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
