Police seize illegal firearms and ammunition

Officers of the Central Criminal Police and regional police departments have seized illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics in Tbilisi and multiple regions, arresting 18 individuals.

During searches of homes and vehicles, police confiscated machine guns, pistols, revolvers, hand grenades, silencers, and a large quantity of cartridges. Additionally, narcotics, including “Alpha PVP” and marijuana, were found in possession of several detainees.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 236, 214, 260, and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The offenses carry penalties of up to eight years in prison.
