Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, visited Kazakhstan’s locomotive manufacturing plant. The Georgian government delegation was hosted by Zhanibek Taizhanov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Prime Minister of Georgia was briefed on the plant’s production process.
Later the same day, the Head of Government of Georgia visited the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), where he toured the Centre’s facilities and attended a presentation on its activities and key areas of operation.
Summarising his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Prime Minister of Georgia described it as a historic milestone in Georgian-Kazakh relations.
“We signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is an important agreement that will elevate our relations to an entirely new level. We enjoy excellent political relations and steadily expanding economic cooperation. Kazakhstan is one of Georgia’s most important economic partners.
We attach great importance to Central Asia, and Kazakhstan plays a particularly significant role in the region. It is a rapidly growing economy, which makes our cooperation with Kazakhstan especially important.
Considerable efforts are also being made to strengthen connectivity and further develop Georgia’s transit function. Cooperation with Kazakhstan is of particular importance in this regard as well.
Accordingly, our relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan are entering an entirely new stage,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia.
