Tourism Administration Head: Georgia has never received as many travelers from EU countries as it has recently
Market diversification is the main goal of the National Tourism Administration’s action plan, with a range of activities carried out every year to achieve this objective, National Tourism Administration Head Maia Omiadze said.
According to Omiadze, targeted marketing campaigns and close cooperation with United Airports of Georgia help attract new airlines, while these joint efforts are directly reflected in visitor statistics, which show an increasingly diverse range of countries among Georgia’s top 10 source markets.
“This is exactly the diversified market and the statistical data we are actually seeing in the tourism industry. Our top 10 includes countries from markets such as China, India, EU member states, Gulf countries and, of course, Israel, as well as neighboring countries.
“Under our strategy, we work with these markets every year to ensure that significantly more travelers visit Georgia,” Omiadze said.
The head of the National Tourism Administration said the planned diversification policy has contributed to a steady increase in the number of travelers visiting Georgia.
“It is precisely the action plan focused on diversification that has ensured that the number of travelers to Georgia continues to grow year after year. According to the statistics, Georgia has never received as many travelers from EU countries as it has recently — including in the first quarter of 2026. Their share of the total figure stands at 9.1%,” Omiadze said.
