Police seize 107 packages of drugs and detain two individuals

Officers from the Zugdidi District Division of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department, part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), have arrested two individuals identified as F.A., born in 1985, and R.L., born in 1956, on charges related to facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a significant quantity of narcotics.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a search of the suspects’ persons and vehicles, along with an investigative examination conducted on-site, led law enforcement officers to seize 107 packages of the narcotic substance Methadone, prepared for sale, as evidence from the specified locations.

“The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment,” the MIA stated.
