Police detain priviously convicted individual under conditional sentence for violence against stray dog in Rustavi
The police detained a previously convicted individual being under a conditional sentence for violence against a stray dog in Rustavi, the Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia.
The investigation determined that the individual inflicted injuries on the homeless dog with a knife and escaped from the crime scene. The dog is placed at the Rustavi Shelter for Animals.
As a result of the investigative actions conducted by law enforcement officers, the individual was arrested as a suspect, and during his personal search, a knife was seized as evidence.
The investigation is in progress under Article 259 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The individual faces up to 3 years of imprisonment.
