Police detain four protesters at Adjara Supreme Council

The law enforcement officers detained four members of the non-governmental organization Alternative after they tried to paste stickers on the governmental building.

Tensions also occurred when a citizen accused demonstrators of destructive behavior and organizing disorder. The police eased the verbal confrontation.

Representatives of Imokmede (Take Action) and Alternative organizations are holding a protest rally at the building of Adjara Supreme Council on Tuesday.

Protesters brought trash bins and claimed that this was the place of the council members. “The history will throw the Communist members of Adjara Supreme Council in such trash bins sooner or later,” Khatuna Beridze, Founder of the Alternative, said.

The Adjara Supreme Council will hold its first sitting today.
