Adjara Supreme Council approves 2021 budget

The Supreme Council of Adjara has approved the 2021 budget of the Autonomous Republic. Next year’s budget will make 328 million 474 thousand GEL.

According to the draft budget submitted by the Minister of Finance of Adjara, Jaba Putkaradze, the financial plan has been reduced by 10 million compared to last year, but the share of revenues has increased by six percent year-on-year.

“Healthcare and social direction are the main priorities of the next year’s budget. Due to pandemic, all major infrastructure projects will continue,” said Jaba Putkaradze.

According to the 2021 budget, all major infrastructure and social projects in Adjara, such as gasification, water supply, implementation of the second stage of the dream city, construction of sports infrastructure like Chakvi Weightlifting Base, Kobuleti Sports School, would not stop.

The budget of the Ministry of Health is increasing, and the development of tourism infrastructure and the creation of new tourism products remain a priority. Financial resources (3 million GEL) are provided for the municipalities to supply medicines to the citizens. The funding for education infrastructure, school construction, and rehabilitation is increasing.
