Police detain four individuals on charges of facilitating large-scale narcotics trafficking

Officers from the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA), have apprehended four individuals on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and distribution of a significant quantity of narcotics.

According to a statement from the Interior Ministry, both Georgian and foreign nationals are among those detained.

“During searches of the suspects’ personal and residential premises, law enforcement officers recovered various types of narcotics prepared for sale from locations provided by the accused,” the report states.

The investigation is being carried out under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which stipulate penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment for such offences.
