Police detain an individual wanted under Interpol's Red Notice in Batumi

Officers of the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), through operative-investigation activities, detained a Ukrainian citizen, born in 1989, wanted under the Interpol’s Red Notice in Batumi, the Adjara region of Georgia.

According to the MIA, the detained individual was wanted by German and Polish law enforcement agencies for various crimes, including heading an organized crime gang and illegal transportation of migrants.

“The individual crossed the Georgian state border before he was declared internationally wanted. Extradition procedures are ongoing,” the MIA said.
