Police arrest man in Dmanisi following assault near Lake Pantiani

Officers from the Dmanisi District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), have arrested a man on charges of assault.

According to a statement by the Ministry, the investigation established that on 20 September, the suspect physically assaulted a female acquaintance in the vicinity of Lake Pantiani in Dmanisi Municipality before fleeing the scene.

Following swift operational measures and investigative actions carried out in hot pursuit, law enforcement officers promptly identified the suspect and took him into custody.

An investigation is underway under Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (Violence/Assault).
