As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Border Management and Coordination Main Division of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a foreign citizen, S.G., born in 1986, on charges of bribery and using a forged document, the MIA reports.

According to the investigation, S.G. presented forged documents and offered a bribe to a border guard while crossing the Dariali checkpoint on the Georgian state border. Law enforcement officers detained him as a suspect on charges of bribery and use of a forged document.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 339, Part 2, and Article 362, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to seven years, the MIA stated.
