Police arrest four Ukrainian nationals in drug trafficking operation, seize large quantities of various narcotics

In a coordinated operation across Tbilisi and Batumi, police have detained four Ukrainian citizens involved in organised drug trafficking. The investigation uncovered their use of sophisticated “smuggling” methods to distribute significant quantities of narcotics.

A search of one suspect’s temporary residence in Batumi uncovered a substantial cache of drugs, including Alpha-PVP, Clephedrone, Methamphetamine, MDM-A, and Marijuana, all illicitly purchased and packaged into 1,544 individual parcels for sale.

Further searches of the suspects’ homes in Tbilisi revealed a large stockpile of Methadone prepared for distribution, alongside materials used for packaging drugs.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, concerning organised drug trafficking in large quantities, which carries penalties of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
