The police have arrested a Turkish citizen, V.E., born in 1993, on drug-related charges following operational and investigative activities.
According to the Ministry, law enforcement officers seized an exceptionally large quantity of narcotics – up to 200 grams of “mephedrone” – as evidence during a personal search of the detainee in the area adjacent to Mtatsminda Park.
The investigation is proceeding under Article 260, Part 3, Subparagraph “a” of Georgia’s Criminal Code.
The crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment.
