Police apprehend Interpol-wanted individual in Adjara

Following targeted operational measures and thorough investigative efforts, officers from the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained a Turkish citizen born in 1990, identified as Sh.G., who was subject to a red notice issued by Interpol.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sh.G. was wanted by Turkish law enforcement on charges of illegal production and trafficking of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, as indicated by the Interpol red notice.

“Law enforcement officers detained Sh.G. in Batumi as a result of ongoing investigative actions,” the Ministry stated.

Extradition proceedings, as stipulated by law, are underway regarding the detainee.
