Poland to consistently support territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia
Polish Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter on the 13th anniversary of 2008 Russia-Georgia war.
“13 years ago Russia attacked Georgia. Poland reacted immediately, demonstrating support for Georgia with President Lech Kaczyński historic visit to Tbilisi with other European leaders. Poland consistently supports territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia,” it tweeted.
Thirteen years passed after the August 2008 Russia-Georgia military hostilities. Russia recognized independence of Georgia’s regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia soon after the war. It continues non-fulfillment of the ceasefire agreement.
