POG to host 27th annual conference, IAP meeting on Sept 26-29

On September 25-29, the Prosecution Service of Georgia (POG) is hosting the 27th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) on the topic of Global Phenomena Reshaping Criminal Justice Systems.

According to the POG, 300 prosecutors from 60 countries and representatives of the relevant units of the UN, EU, Council of Europe and United States Department of Justice (DoJ) working in the criminal justice field and top experts of said field will attend the international prosecutorial conference.

Sessions and workshops will be held on various important issues such as international cooperation directly through prosecution authorities; COVID, Institutional Challenges & Response; Evolution of Cyber-Crime Typologies; Challenges Obtaining Digital Evidence from Abroad; Money Laundering through Virtual Assets; and many more.

The Prosecutor General of Georgia Irakli Shotadze will also hold bilateral meetings with prosecutor generals and representatives of agencies of various countries.

International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) was founded at the United Nations Office at Vienna in 1995 and it is the only international organization of prosecutors that unites prosecution agencies of various countries around the globe and individual prosecutors. Over 183 agencies of 180 countries, as well as individual member-prosecutors have joined the international association.
