PM vows Georgia to be best ready for joining EU among candidate countries
Membership of the European Union remains Georgia’s foreign political top priority, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, delivering an annual report to the parliament.
Kobakhidze noted that his first official visit as the Prime Minister was in Brussels, where he attended the meeting of the Associated Council.
“Of course, fulfilment of 9-point recommendations under the Association agenda will continue. By 2030, Georgia will be best ready to join the EU among the candidate countries. We will also continue cooperation with NATO. During my first foreign visit, I met NATO leadership and participated in the NATO-Georgia Commission meeting. We have prolific cooperation in different directions, including military and defence, and deepening cooperation will remain our government’s top priority,” he said.
