“The Special State Protection Service of Georgia has evolved into a strong and modern institution for over three decades. Your professionalism, dedication to duty, and loyalty to the homeland create a solid foundation for the secure functioning of state institutions,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his address at the event commemorating the founding day of the Special State Protection Service.

The head of government, alongside President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, congratulated Special State Protection Service Director Anzor Chubinidze, the service’s personnel, and each employee on their professional holiday.

Irakli Kobakhidze spoke about the exceptional importance of their work in ensuring the security of state institutions.

“The true essence of your mission is to care not only for the security of high-ranking officials but also for state institutions and diplomatic missions of special significance. You protect the institutions upon which our state stands, and you safeguard Georgian statehood itself – our sovereignty, constitutional order, and security.

The Special State Protection Service has evolved into a strong and modern institution for over three decades. The service’s 13 structural units comprehensively cover all aspects of security. The Special State Protection Service plays an ever-growing role in our security architecture. I want to highlight Anzor Chubinidze’s personal contribution. We all see how he works daily to strengthen the State Protection Service, which is an essential condition for properly protecting our country’s security,” the Prime Minister declared.

According to information from the Georgian government, in connection with the event dedicated to the service’s founding day, the President awarded Special State Protection Service Chief Anzor Chubinidze the Order of Honour for his exceptional contribution to strengthening law and order.

The state award – the Medal for Military Valour – was presented to Grigori Uridia, Jaba Gamjashvili, Tornike Janelidze, Zurab Darbaiseli, and Alexandre Kurdadze. The President awarded the Medal of Honour to Ilia Shubitidze, Levan Tsetskhladze, Irakli Natenadze, and Giorgi Natradze.
