PM says GD aims to win Tbilisi mayoral elections in first round, secure at least 38 seats in Sakrebulo
“The Georgian Dream aims to win the Tbilisi mayoral elections in the very first round and secure at least 38 seats in the City Assembly (Sakrebulo). Yesterday, the opposition confirmed that we are close to reaching the target,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to the PM, the radical opposition is weakened, demonstrating inconsistency in its actions.
“Inconsistency indicates the radical opposition’s weakness. They have brought themselves to this situation by their decision to resume sabotage against the state and its institutions. Our goal is to achieve a clean sweep of 64 out of 64 in the local elections, winning both the mayoral and Sakrebulo races in every municipality.
The Georgian Dream aims to win the Tbilisi mayoral elections in the very first rounds and secure at least 38 seats in the City Assembly (Sakrebulo). Yesterday’s development confirmed that we are close to reaching the target. We expect Kakha Kaladze to win in the first round in Tbilisi and secure 38 mandates out of 50 at least in Sakrebulo,” he said.
The Lelo and Gakharia-For Georgia parties nominated Irakli Kupradze as their joint mayoral candidate for the Tbilisi race on August 18.
