PM: Participants in violence are perpetrators of attempted overthrow and should expect surprises ahead
“All those involved in the violence are perpetrators of the attempted overthrow. As such, they should brace themselves for surprises in the days ahead,” declared Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
Kobakhidze added that law enforcement authorities would require only a few days to implement justice.
“We anticipated that more than thirty shameless perpetrators would be apprehended, and you can see that our prediction is coming true. We have been telling everyone that we possess far greater resources for identifying those involved than we did just a few months ago. In the past, we could only identify about three per cent of perpetrators; today, our capabilities have significantly increased.
As a result, many of those responsible for the attempted overthrow face a very difficult and lawful fate. The violence was extensive, and I want to share some figures with you. Fifteen police officers and six rally participants had to be taken to the hospital. This speaks volumes about the scale of the violence. Those responsible will be held strictly accountable.
October 5 has come, and the attempted overthrow has failed. We are all united in Georgia, including Bidzina Ivanishvili, every representative, and every citizen. Everything is fine, and we will continue on a positive path. Our country will undoubtedly enjoy peace and ongoing development.
Anyone who raised a hand against our state during the rally, organised by foreign special services, will face the harshest consequences. Georgia is not a country that allows foreign special interests to overthrow its government,” Kobakhidze stated.
