PM: Neither local agents nor their patrons have perspective to destroy Georgia for next three years

“While the war in Ukraine persists, the so-called Deep State has a clear interest, with European bureaucracy involved, in potentially opening a second front in Georgia,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated during a live broadcast on Rustavi 2 TV.
According to the Prime Minister, once the war in Ukraine concludes, the real possibility of resetting relations will become achievable.
“The realisation of a reset depends fundamentally on the end of the war. This process is ongoing. They attempted yet another overthrow, bringing in the EU press secretary and supporting the destabilisation effort. This too echoes the ongoing conflict. As long as the war continues, the Deep State has a specific vested interest, with European bureaucrats involved, in opening a second front in Georgia. Their aim is to manipulate the situation here, to change the government. We are patiently awaiting the end of the war. Once the conflict is over, we believe the regional and continental landscape will change dramatically, making a reset of relations possible.
There will be no elections for the next three years; they see that the fifth attempt at overthrow has failed and that their chances are diminishing. Neither the local agents nor their patrons have any prospects of destabilising this country within that timeframe. One pragmatic option is to make a weighted decision now, even before the war ends, and begin contemplating a reset of relations,” the Prime Minister concluded.
