“We have set a highly ambitious goal: under this strategy, electricity generation in Georgia is slated to expand 2.5-fold by 2036. While this is certainly an ambitious roadmap, its realisation is entirely realistic, and our team will spare no effort to deliver it,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his address at an event commemorating Energy Workers’ Day.

As Kobakhidze highlighted, Georgia today boasts highly qualified, forward-looking energy professionals who continue to build upon the rich engineering and technical traditions established in the country over decades.

“I wish to express my gratitude to the new leadership at the Ministry of Economy, to Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and her team, including Inga Pkhaladze, who oversees the energy portfolio, as well as to the heads of every state enterprise operating within the energy domain under the Ministry. The progress we have witnessed during this period is the direct outcome of your collective effort, laying the groundwork for a new era of energy development across our nation.

Human capital is crucial in this endeavour. The knowledge and expertise of our professionals remain the primary guarantee of both our past achievements and our future success. We are deeply proud that Georgia’s highly skilled energy specialists are equipped to navigate modern challenges, carrying forward a distinguished engineering legacy built over generations.

We will do everything in our power to ensure our resources and potential are utilised with maximum prudence and efficiency. We will make every effort to attract fresh investment into the energy sector, reinforce our infrastructure, and drive the adoption of modern technologies. Furthermore, we will spare no effort to ensure that our esteemed professionals, everyone dedicated to serving and advancing Georgia’s power grid, receive the recognition they so richly deserve.

My sincere thanks go to every energy worker for your professional dedication, your commendable service, and your unwavering commitment. Our national achievements in the energy sector rest firmly upon your efforts. I congratulate you on your professional holiday and wish you every success,” Irakli Kobakhidze declared.
