PM Kobakhidze: High-level corruption is fully eradicated; we challenge opponents to produce a single fact against any minister, promising immediate action

“Following the party congress where Bidzina Ivanishvili raised concerns regarding corruption risks, I assumed the office of Prime Minister roughly a month later. From that moment, it required a year and five months to thoroughly audit every area and realign our team,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

According to the Head of Government, high-level corruption within the state leadership has now been completely eradicated.

“Today, we can state with confidence that at the highest levels of governance, while lower-level corruption requires continuous enforcement, as it remains a perpetual challenge in any nation, high-level corruption has been eliminated. We frequently challenge our opponents: present even a single concrete instance of corruption involving any minister, and we pledge to everyone an immediate response. Yet, to this day, they have failed to bring forward a single fact.

Even after my appointment as Prime Minister, it took us a year and five months to scrutinise and subsequently overhaul the system. Dealing with corruption is no simple task, even from the Prime Minister’s desk. We examined the situation thoroughly, restructured the system over a year and five months, and today we hold ourselves accountable: take any minister, the government, or the Prime Minister himself, produce a single verified instance of corruption, and action will be swift and decisive. Since our system was overhauled, not a single such fact has been produced,” the Prime Minister noted.
