PM: Judges must act in accordance with their professional responsibilities; no one should evade responsibility

“Judges must act in accordance with their professional responsibilities,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, responding to the question regarding former judge of the Constitutional Court, Manana Kobakhidze.

According to the PM, no one should evade responsibility.

“I read the content of his statement. It differed from the headline. She spoke about her intention to continue working as a lawyer and her desire not to end his legal career. It was presented differently in the headline, though this is not what matters. The main point is that judges must act in accordance with their professional responsibilities. No one should evade responsibility. That is all I can say,” he said.

Manana Kobakhidze stepped down as a judge of Georgia’s Constitutional Court on October 14, ending her tenure early following a personal request.
