If Gakharia’s party thinks the lawsuit is only about sabotage, it hasn’t read it, Levan Machavariani says
“Legal questions are for the Constitutional Court to decide. If Gakharia’s party says the lawsuit accuses the parties only of sabotage, they presumably haven’t read it, because it sets out many charges,” said MP Levan Machavariani, a member of Georgian Dream.
Machavariani said he hopes the Constitutional Court will accept all of this.
“As for Gakharia, his party did not just take part in sabotage. It was an offshoot of the United National Movement, and the best evidence of that is the coalitions and partnerships it formed after the 2021 elections. If they point to the fact that they deigned to enter Parliament, they still refuse to recognise the legitimacy of constitutional bodies or of Parliament, and they say the elections were rigged and that only they are legitimate. Of course, that absurdity will be of no use to them in court,” Machavariani said.
