PM: Ivanishvili's philanthropic work is outstanding; Paragraph Tabori to give fresh development impetus
“Today we are opening Paragraph Tabori, a project which, through its scale, ambition and substance, writes a new and highly significant chapter in the modern history of our capital,” stated Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, during his address at the opening ceremony of the Paragraph Golf & Spa Tabori hotel.
The Head of Government thanked the project’s initiator, Bidzina Ivanishvili, noting that his philanthropic work is exceptional in its essence for Georgia.
“I wish to thank the initiator of this project, Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is the inspiration behind this idea. His philanthropic work is, of course, exceptional in its substance for our country. This project is another manifestation and expression of his charitable activities. All such similar projects are distinguished by being oriented not towards generating financial profit, but towards giving fresh impetus to the development of the respective city, region and our country as a whole. This is precisely what distinguishes the Paragraph Tabori project.
This complex, part of the world-renowned Marriott brand’s Autograph Collection, positions Tbilisi as a European-standard, premier destination for both tourists and business travellers. Paragraph Tabori represents an interesting synthesis of contemporary architecture and urban planning. Tbilisi’s first, highest-level golf club, an outstanding spa complex and an innovative cable car connecting it to the heart of the city at Freedom Square make it a unique project for the region,” the Prime Minister noted.
In Irakli Kobakhidze’s assessment, the total investment of over GEL 500 million in the hotel, golf course and cable car represents a direct, long-term commitment to the economic future of the capital and Georgia generally.
“This investment means, first and foremost, hundreds of new, well-paid jobs for our fellow citizens. It should be noted that Paragraph Tabori is not a standalone project. It is part of a hotel chain established by the Georgia Tourism Development Fund, which already operates in Tbilisi and Sighnaghi and will soon expand to include Abastumani.
Once again, I wish to thank Bidzina Ivanishvili and all those involved in implementing his initiative. I would like to thank the Tourism Development Fund, as well as every architect, engineer, and builder who participated in bringing this ambitious idea to life and contributed to the realisation of this project. Paragraph Tabori will give our capital new charm and energy, and will create an exemplary model for the city’s contemporary development,” Irakli Kobakhidze declared.
