PM Irakli Kobakhidze meets CEO of Changi Airports International and Founder of BluFive Capital to discuss major aviation projects

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Eugene Gan, Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airports International, and Hazem Ben-Gacem, Founder and CEO of BluFive Capital, according to an official statement released by the Government Administration.

During the meeting, the delegations explored prospects for strategic partnership within the aviation sector.

According to the Government Administration, discussions focused on the rapid growth of Georgia’s aviation and tourism industries, the entry of new international carriers into the market, and the landmark development project for Tbilisi’s new international airport in Vaziani. Changi Airports International expressed keen interest in partnering on the flagship development, which is projected to handle up to 20 million passengers annually.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the Government of Georgia attaches paramount importance to establishing long-term strategic partnerships with global aviation leaders and investment institutions.

Kobakhidze noted that international traveller arrivals in Georgia reached 7.8 million last year, generating 4.7 billion USD in tourism revenues. International air connectivity expanded significantly, with approximately 80 airlines currently operating flights from Georgia to over 140 international destinations.

Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to collaborate on sharing global operational expertise across the aviation sector and outlined further steps to deepen strategic partnership.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, the statement confirmed.
