The Economic Council’s meeting was held today at the Government Administration under the chairmanship of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
The council’s members discussed the priority directions defined in the revised version of the 2024 Draft Budget. Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili briefed the members on the budget’s priority directions, the government’s press office said.
“It was noted that financing for social security programs, salaries for pedagogues, and public sector employees will increase under the 2024 Budget, while considerable financial resources are also earmarked for promoting economic growth.
At the meeting, the council’s members also discussed in a working mode the economic trends of this year’s first nine months, along with the outcomes of budget implementation, and new projects and economic initiatives for the year 2024,” reads the statement.
