PM: Historical renovation remains cornerstone of Tbilisi development programme

“I am confident that the National Palace will nurture many more generations of our nation. Here, countless young people will learn the fundamentals of art and science, engage in sport, and many more deserving individuals will join our fields of culture, science, and sport,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the opening ceremony of the restored National Palace of Students and Youth.

As the head of government emphasised, the restoration of historical landmarks constitutes a crucial element of the capital’s overarching programme. Of course, the rehabilitation of the National Palace is a natural progression of this significant endeavour.

“I firmly believe that the National Palace will educate future generations of our country, inspiring them to excel in art, science, and sport. Thanks to this historic building, many talented individuals will join our cultural, scientific, and sporting spheres.

I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone involved in bringing this vital project to fruition. Special thanks go to the Tbilisi City Hall, and personally to Mayor Kakha Kaladze. Under his leadership, such projects are executed with exceptional taste and outstanding quality, and I am grateful for his dedication. I also wish to thank all the architects, restorers, and builders, each of whom performed their work with the utmost professionalism.

On this special day, I congratulate everyone involved and wish the National Palace continued success in the years ahead,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
