PM highlights Georgia’s role as a bridge between Europe and Asia, prioritises maximizing strategic potential

“Georgia boasts a strategic geographical position. Throughout history, we have served as a vital link between Europe and Asia, the West and the East. Our goal now is to maximise this inherent potential,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his annual report to Parliament.

According to the Prime Minister, the extensive infrastructure projects currently underway will play a crucial role in strengthening Georgia’s transit and connectivity capabilities.

“One of our top priorities is to enhance the country’s connectivity. This is our historical mission. Georgia’s strategic location has always connected continents—Europe and Asia, the West and the East—and we are committed to leveraging this potential to its fullest. All the infrastructure initiatives I’ve outlined—highways, railway and port development, and airport construction—are aimed at this purpose. These projects will significantly bolster our transit and connectivity functions.

It is also worth highlighting that just two weeks ago, we inaugurated the Tbilisi Dry Port, a project developed with Arab investment. This is a vital milestone that will further strengthen Georgia’s role as a regional hub, supporting our broader connectivity ambitions,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
