PM highlights Eagle Hills' $6 bln investment as trust and proof of Georgia's economic policy's effectiveness
“Eagle Hills is entering Georgia with an investment of over six billion U.S. dollars in volume, and such a level of capital investment represents a declaration of the greatest trust in our country,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in his address at the opening of Eagle Hills’ Georgia office.
According to the Head of Government, the Eagle Hills name is internationally recognised for its exceptional quality and innovation.
“Today, we are laying the foundation for a project that marks a new, historic chapter in our nation’s development, in both its scope and significance. Eagle Hills, a renowned global developer, is entering Georgia with an investment exceeding six billion U.S. dollars, thus making it the largest direct foreign investment in the history of independent Georgia.
First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the driving force behind this project, Mr Mohamed Alabbar, as well as to our partners from the United Arab Emirates. Such a substantial level of investment signifies a profound vote of confidence in our country and, equally, serves as a clear affirmation of the effectiveness of our economic policies. It is particularly gratifying that these ambitious projects are being realised by Eagle Hills, a developer renowned internationally for its commitment to quality and innovation. This exemplifies perfectly how the stable, predictable, and favourable investment environment fostered by our government continues to attract leading international business figures,” the Prime Minister stated.
According to Kobakhidze, the scale of the project is impressive, involving the creation of entirely new, modern urban ecosystems.
“In Tbilisi, in Krtsanisi, on a 600-hectare site, a new green city is taking shape, featuring residential and commercial complexes, hotels, and recreational spaces spanning over one million square metres. Meanwhile, in Batumi, on the site of the former firing range, covering 250 hectares, a new jewel of the Black Sea coast is emerging, a premium-class resort aimed at developing top-tier tourist infrastructure,” the Prime Minister stated.
During his address at the opening of Eagle Hills’ Georgia office, Prime Minister Kobakhidze further underscored his government’s policy to actively promote strategic investments that generate jobs, bolster the economy, and strengthen Georgia’s position on the global investment map.
The Head of Government added that these present new opportunities for related businesses and serve as a highly significant stimulus for the country’s economic growth.
“I am confident that this partnership will transform the urban landscape of Tbilisi and Batumi, create new centres of attraction and further strengthen Georgia’s status as a regional leader and the region’s principal investment centre. It is our government’s policy to maximally facilitate precisely such strategic investments, which create jobs, strengthen our economy and consolidate Georgia’s position on the global investment map.
Once again, I extend my gratitude to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the founder of EMAAR Group and Eagle Hills, Mr Mohamed Alabbar, and to our partners from the United Arab Emirates for this historic decision. I am confident that these projects will become yet another calling card for our country. I wish you every success, and on behalf of the Government of Georgia, I pledge our full support and assistance,” said the Prime Minister.
