PM: German Ambassador seeks exemption from Grants Law, told it applies to all, including embassies
“Mr Fischer was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, he had requested a meeting at the government administration,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
According to the Prime Minister, the German Ambassador sought an exemption from the Law on Grants but was told that the law applies equally to all relevant entities, including the German Embassy.
“Mr Fischer was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, he had requested a meeting at the government administration, where he asked for an exemption from the Law on Grants. However, he was informed that the law will apply uniformly to all entities, including the German Embassy,” added Kobakhidze.
