PM Garibashvili: We do not restrict anyone from doing more for Ukraine or going to Kyiv

On the first anniversary of Russia’s full-fledged war against Ukraine, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili emphasized that Georgia was standing in solidarity with Ukraine while primarily protecting the interests of the nation and the Georgian people.

“We are the government that managed to avoid the second front, provocations. If the destructive opposition had been in power, today’s Georgia, like today’s Ukraine, would have turned into a battlefield. Therefore, let us remain calm, handle our own business, and look after our country,” Irakli Garibashvili stated.

The PM then stated that Georgia supported Ukraine with over 400 resolutions, that Ukrainian refugees felt safe in the country, that the country offered humanitarian relief, and that “the government restricts no one if anybody is willing to do more.”

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili earlier regretted that only opposition representatives of Georgia were in Kyiv today.
