“Debates hold immense significance in the current climate, as they aim to clearly inform society of the truth,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during remarks about the upcoming debates on GPB’s First Channel.
The Prime Minister announced that the debates will take place at the GPB building.
“We are currently speaking in a monologue format at this press conference, but the debates will provide society with more resources to discern the truth. Let’s see what these individuals have to say. If they can convince us, we are open to re-evaluating our position. We have done so in the past and remain flexible. However, if they recognize that the truth is on our side, we expect them to acknowledge it. I must also stress that there are attempts by liberal-fascist factions to intimidate those willing to engage in debate. The entire opposition and certain NGOs are actively trying to prevent them from participating. I hope they find the courage to join us,” he added.
Former Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze and former Defence Minister Tinatin Khidasheli are slated to engage in a public discussion with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on GPB First Channel on December 4 at 10 p.m.
