PM criticizes EP resolution, says European funds finance revolutionary processes, radicalism

“Trust towards the EU and European bureaucrats is drastically decreased in Georgia based on European surveys as society observes the process of creating challenges for the country and how European bureaucracy goes against the principle of supremacy of law and state interests linked to our country’s stability,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in a live broadcast of Free Space Program of the Adjara Public Broadcaster.

According to the PM, the European Parliament has recently endorsed “yet another unfair resolution.”

“European bureaucrats mainly demand non-fulfilment of supremacy of law as the leading line. Besides, they demand the release of criminals, punishment of concrete individuals, and this is absolutely illogical. The second line in these demands is linked to motivation of revolutionary processes.

We have been observing the developments for the last several years. Both American and European funds were involved in financing revolutions. Under the conditions of the new U.S. administration, funding such processes has practically stopped through channels of the USAID and NED.

European funds serve as tools to finance revolutionary processes and radicalism. Regrettably, all this is reflected in the EP resolutions. We need peace and stability in our country and the supremacy of law that is directly linked to stability, calm and peace.

When such lustration is obvious in EP resolutions or other decisions, nobody should be surprised that trust towards the EU and European bureaucrats is drastically reduced in Georgia based on European surveys as society observes the process of creating challenges for the country and how European bureaucracy goes against the principle of supremacy of law and state interests linked to our country’s stability,” he concluded.
