People's Power Chair views Euronest PA resolution as unrealistic, full of lies, motivating to radical opposition
“We are ready for partnership relations instead of ungrounded pressure on Georgia,” said Dimitri Khundadze, Chair of the People’s Power party.
According to Khundadze, Euronest PA was used for pressuring Georgia.
“The Assembly of Euronest, held in Armenia in the absence of representatives from Georgia and Azerbaijan, was once again used for pressuring partner countries, especially Georgia. Its adopted Resolution was unrealistic, full of lies and motivating to radical opposition. Such an attitude is unacceptable. Therefore, the Georgian delegation’s participation in such an assembly loses sense. This is part of the scam to subordinate Georgia and yet another attack on our country.
However, we will continue to defend the interests of our country and society. Once again, I reconfirm that we are ready for partnership relations instead of ungrounded pressure on Georgia, declaring the elections as rigged when there are no facts to confirm it. This is not a partnership; this is a hostile attitude, and continuing such a relationship simply makes no sense,” he said.
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly issued a Resolution on the future of the Eastern Partnership and the new prospects of the EU enlargement policy, which also draws attention to Georgia. It highlights recent developments in the country indicating democratic backsliding.
