People's Power Chair: Taliashvili-Trump meeting confirms Georgian-U.S. relations moving onto positive track

Dimitri Khundadze, Chair of the People’s Power party, believes that the meeting between Ambassador Tamar Taliashvili and U.S. President Donald Trump is a positive political step, which will benefit Georgia-U.S. relations.

According to Khundadze, the opposition did not expect such a high-level meeting.

“This meeting has high political value. This is a confirmation that Georgian-American relations will be moving onto a positive track. The sides agreed on the elaboration of an action plan to be followed by both sides. I have faith, and we will see.

The opposition did not expect such a high-level meeting, especially in the pre-election period, as it is not in their interest. It is not in either their interests or the interests of Georgia’s unfriendly forces. However, it is a highly positive political step that will benefit Georgia-US relations,” he said.

The newly appointed Ambassador of Georgia to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, presented her credentials to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, during a ceremony held at the White House on July 25.
