In the snap and midterm elections on April 29, voters made virtual reality propagandists look in the mirror of political reality, Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili wrote on Facebook and published a banner depicting the difference between the Georgian Dream’s results in the 2021 and 2023 elections.

The Speaker says that following the 2021 elections failure, the opposition attempted to create many fake crises.

“After the 2021 elections, the opposition tried to create many fake crises – ‘Free Misha,’ ‘I prefer the fire of shells,’ ‘Georgia does not deserve the status of a candidate,’ ‘Georgia bypasses sanctions,’ ‘No to Russian law,’ ‘I threw a Molotov cocktail,’ these slogans changed time by time, but the goal was to stir up disorder and gain power in an undemocratic manner. They attempted to rouse the masses against their own government by employing KGB-style propaganda. On April 29, the people responded to this propaganda by voting in significant numbers, supporting the Georgian Dream and renewing GD’s democratic mandate and policies with even greater legitimacy,” the Speaker wrote.

By-elections of the Georgian parliament, City Assemblies (Sakrebulos) and snap elections of Mayors were held in 10 municipalities of Georgia on April 29.
