PECs gets 175 complaints by 3 pm

As of 3 pm, 175 complaints have been submitted at Precinct Election Commissions across Georgia, referring to some procedural violations mostly and request to impose disciplinary liability measures against commission members, Central Election Commission (CEC) has reported.

The CEC claims one of the observer organizations reported that 24,3% of precinct election commissions (PECs) were not ready to kick off the polling process by 8 am.

However, the CEC notes that it has been informing the public of the polling process since the morning, saying that PECs were open at 08:00.

“Only nine precincts were open 10-15 late throughout Georgia (1 precinct in Mtatsminda; 2 precincts in Krtsanisi; 3 precincts in Vake; 1 precinct in Dedoplitskaro; 1 precinct in Khobi; 1 precinct in Martvili), which can not be 24.3% per cent of 3,664 precincts.

The same person also said that an observer recording some violations was forced to leave Zugdidi # 90 polling station. We checked the information and found that several observers were obstructing the polling process, taking photos of voters’ IDs. They have been warned and then dismissed,” the CEC speaker Natia Ioseliani said.
