Georgian Patriarch Ilia II extended his condolences to the family and friends of the late TV Pirveli cameraman Aleksandre (Lekso) Lashkarava.
“Child’s death is deeply tragic and painful. We pray for him, for his immortal soul,” the Patriarch said.
Ilia II also noted that nothing could change the fervent implore of the late cameraman’s mother. “That is why he needs your prayer support,” the condolence letter reads.
TV Pirveli cameraman Lekso Lashkarava died on Sunday after being assaulted by far-right activists on July 5. He was beaten in the Shame Movement office, stormed by anti-Tbilisi Pride members.
Interior Ministry launched a probe into the case under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving incitement to suicide.
