PM extends birthday wishes to Catholicos-Patriarch

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has extended his warm congratulations to the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II, on his 91st birthday.

“It is with special respect and love that I wish a happy 91st birthday to His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.

Happy is a nation that has such a spiritual guide. The work of His Holiness, exceptional in wisdom and love for one’s neighbor, has played a vital role in the development of our civic and spiritual lives, the strengthening of the unity of Georgians, and the cementing of supreme values in society for almost half a century.

The epitomes of morality, spiritual tranquillity, and visionariness, as exhibited by our Patriarch through his own life, are exemplary not only for Orthodox Christians but also for every citizen of our country. His merit is a continuation of the legacy of Georgia’s greatest sons and daughters, and a textbook example for future generations to emulate.

I wish longevity, health, and vigour to our Patriarch,” the letter of congratulations reads.
