Parliamentary delegation of Western Balkans visits occupation line

Chair of the parliamentary Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia, and members of the parliamentary delegation from Western Balkans visited the occupation line in Odzisi village.

According to Irakli Beraia, the delegation members inspected the Russian occupation consequences, unlawful infrastructure, closed passes and artificially installed barriers.

“It is significant that all guests who arrive in Georgia and partners visit the occupation line and inspect the severity of Russian occupation, where the front line of the European security passes. What we saw today confirms that with the aim to increase pressure on the occupant state, it is vital to strengthen international efforts to de-occupy Georgia’s regions and Russia to respect its internationally taken commitments,” he said.

The Western Balkans lawmakers arrived in Georgia within the framework of the Georgia-Western Balkans inter-Parliamentary Conference held for the first time at the initiative of the Georgian side.
