The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, met with Sisak Gabrielyan, Chair of the Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Sport, and Youth Committee at the National Assembly of Armenia, along with committee members.
The meeting highlighted positive trends in mutual visits and the exchange of sectoral committees, underscoring the thriving cooperation between the Georgian and Armenian parliaments.
Shalva Papuashvili emphasised the importance of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s participation in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, as well as the working visit of Alen Simonyan, President of the National Assembly of Armenia.
Sisak Gabrielyan congratulated Shalva Papuashvili on the Georgian Dream party’s convincing victory in the municipal elections held on October 4 and expressed gratitude to Georgia for its ongoing support to Armenia on various international platforms.
The two sides discussed recent developments in the South Caucasus region, emphasising that regional peace benefits all three nations. Speaker Papuashvili reiterated Georgia’s longstanding support for a peaceful resolution to the Armenia-Azerbaijan territorial conflict.
Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee, also attended the meeting.
