“With the blessing of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku announced that, from today and for the next forty days, clergy will conduct daily funeral services at the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral in Tbilisi, at the resting place of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia. These services will be accompanied by singing in honour of His Holiness,” the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate of Georgia said in a statement.

According to the Georgian Orthodox Church, faithful will have the opportunity to enter the cathedral and pay their respects at the Patriarch’s grave every day, from 08:00 to 22:00.

“The divine services will be held in the cathedral daily. In light of this, the funeral rites will be conducted continuously by the clergy from 11:00 to 16:00 and again from 18:00 to 22:00,” the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate of Georgia added in their statement.
