Paata Imnadze: Our Russian colleagues are studying bats as well, maybe they pay $5,000
Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Paata Imnadze, said: “coronavirus confirmed that studying bats is very important.”
Imnadze pointed out that “the whole worlds studies the bats.”
“Our Russian colleagues are studying bats as well. Maybe they pay $5,000. We do not really pay $5,000, because if we study bats, we will put them back into their natural habitat,” Imnadze said.
De facto security committee of Russian-occupied South Ossetia said: “the Georgian citizen who ‘illegally crossed the so-called border’ on July 3 was going to catch bats in the villages of Artsevi and Ghromi and sell each of them for $5,000.”
The so-called security committee added that “the Lugar Laboratory has been showing its interest towards bats since 2012.”
